Voters in Clearwater will head to the polls Tuesday, November 3.

Polling locations will remain open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Any citizen in line at the 7 p.m. mark retains the right to cast a ballot.

The Florida Division of Elections requires voters to present a current and valid photo ID with a signature. Accepted documents include a Florida driver license, a state identification card, or a United States passport. Voters may also use a debit or credit card, military ID, or student ID. Other valid forms include retirement center IDs, neighborhood association IDs, and public assistance IDs. A veteran health identification card from the Department of Veterans Affairs also qualifies. Voters holding a license to carry a concealed weapon or a federal, state, county, or municipal employee ID card meet the requirement.

Voters who arrive without proper ID may still vote by casting a provisional ballot. Election officials will review these ballots after the election to confirm eligibility. The same process applies if a voter’s name does not appear on the registration list at the polling location.

Strict rules govern behavior inside the voting room. Voters and others may not take pictures of people, voting machines, or any area within the polling room. A voter may photograph their own ballot. Political committees and individuals cannot solicit voters inside the polling place within 150 feet of a secure ballot location.

Specific groups are permitted inside the polling location. These include poll workers, the supervisor of elections, and the deputy supervisor of elections. Voters currently casting ballots, along with people in their care or assisting them, may be present. A person participating in an approved mock election for minors is also allowed. Law enforcement or emergency service personnel may enter with the permission of the clerk or the majority of inspectors. Election observers appointed by the Department of State and approved poll watchers are also authorized to be on site.

If a voter faces a barrier, the Fair Election Center advises speaking directly to the deputy election supervisor. If the issue remains unresolved, the voter should contact the county supervisor of elections' office or the U.S. Voter Foundation. Allegations of irregularities or fraud involving voter registration, voting, or petition activities can be reported to the Voter Fraud Hotline at 1.877.868.3737. The hotline operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
