The third edition of the Michelin Guide for Texas officially recognized Goldee's Barbecue in Fort Worth with a one-star rating in October 2026. This marks the first time a barbecue joint in the state has received the distinction. The restaurant is located at 4645 Dick Price Road.

The crew at Goldee's met in high school in Arlington and later trained under prominent pitmasters in Austin. They studied under Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbecue and Tom Micklethwait of Micklethwait Craft Meats. Texas Monthly ranked the spot as the number one barbecue establishment in the state in 2021. Despite that local acclaim, the restaurant was left off the guide for the first two cycles. It now joins three other existing one-star restaurants in the region.

The updated guide lists 26 restaurants across the Dallas area with various levels of recognition. This count includes 23 entries from the initial 2024 release and two additions from 2025. The 2026 update introduced four new entries to the Dallas list. It also added one new Bib Gourmand selection and one new recommendation in the Plano market.

Resident Taqueria in Lake Highlands secured a new Bib Gourmand selection this year. The restaurant opened in 2015 and expanded its space in 2025 by taking over the adjacent shop. Owners Andrew and Amy Savoie serve seasonal specialties, including Brussels sprouts with lime crema and pork belly burnt ends. The spot does not take reservations, and guests must wait for a table.

Jashan in Plano received a recommendation for its Indian fine dining. Chef Ramesh Thangaraon previously earned a special recognition from Michelin in 2023 at his restaurant in Malaysia. The tasting menu at Jashan explores different regions of India. The restaurant offers a 12-course option as well as a 9-course alternative and a standard a la carte menu.

Three other restaurants received new recommendations in the 2026 guide. Olōyō in Old East Dallas features heirloom Mexican corn imported from Colima. Fond in downtown Dallas serves Detroit-style pizza and natural wines. MĀBO in East Dallas introduces yakitori kappo, a style involving cooked chicken and other proteins served over binchotan charcoal.

Tatsu in Deep Ellum and Mamani in Uptown retain their one-star ratings. Tatsu offers a 14-piece Edomae sushi course for 10 seats per night. The upfront cost is $185 per person, though the total bill often approaches $500 for a couple. Mamani, a French contemporary restaurant from the Cohanim brothers, opened in September 2025. It hired executive chef Christophe De Lellis, who previously spent nearly a decade at Joel Robuchon's Las Vegas location.

Lucia in the Bishop Arts District moved from the Bib Gourmand category to the recommended list. It held the Bib Gourmand distinction in 2024 and 2025. Georgie was removed from the guide entirely and is no longer listed as recommended. The guide distinguishes between three levels of stars, Bib Gourmand selections for value, and recommended restaurants for quality.

Mister Charles in Knox-Henderson received the Special Award for Exceptional Cocktails in 2025. The establishment serves an Electric Kool-Aid spritz for $19. Co-owner Chas Martin describes the cocktail program as an irreverent play on classics. The restaurant is part of the Duro Hospitality group, which also operates Casa Duro, a three-room guest house that holds a Michelin Key.
