Namor Nassar, who owns the recently closed Linworth Grill in Columbus, has become a co-owner of Powell Huli Huli Tiki Lounge. The restaurant, located in Downtown Powell, has operated as a local staple for two decades.
Linworth Grill, situated at 2245 W Dublin-Granville Rd., announced its permanent closure on October 29. The restaurant, which opened less than a year ago, had shut down for the summer due to space constraints. Nassar decided not to reopen the Dublin location.
Dustin Sun, the previous owner of Huli Huli, sold the restaurant earlier this month. Sun intends to focus his efforts on operating the tiki lounge's Downtown Columbus location. Nassar joins the new ownership group alongside partners Mike and Sergio.
The new owners plan to retain the existing menu while expanding the business operations. They will introduce a dessert partnership with Mrs. Turbo’s Bakery, a collaboration previously established at Linworth Grill. The group also intends to extend operating hours and add new cocktails and food items to the menu.
Nassar stated that closing his previous venture was a difficult decision. “I’m excited about what’s ahead at Huli Huli, Powell and look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and new guests,” he said. The transition allows Nassar to remain in the food industry with greater flexibility.
The Powell location will continue serving its existing customer base while integrating the new ownership structure. No specific financial figures for the sale were disclosed in the announcement.
