Northwest Second Avenue in Wynwood will close to vehicle traffic for eight hours starting Saturday at 9 p.m. The Miami Police Department set the reopening time for Sunday at 5 a.m. This closure spans the block between Northwest 22nd Street and Northwest 25th Street.
Parking restrictions will take effect earlier on Saturday. No-parking zones will cover Northwest Second Avenue and North Miami Avenue from Northwest 20th Street to Northwest 29th Street. These restrictions begin at 5 a.m. on Saturday and end at 6 a.m. on Sunday.
Similar traffic controls will apply in the Brickell neighborhood. South Miami Avenue will close to traffic between Southeast Ninth Street and Southeast 10th Street. The closure starts at 8 p.m. on Saturday. Police expect the roadway to reopen by 5 a.m. on Sunday.
Officials advise drivers to map their routes before heading to the areas. They warn of increased pedestrian traffic and potential delays in both districts. Motorists should remain vigilant for people walking in the streets.
The police department suggested that attendees use rideshare services or other alternative transportation methods. This recommendation aims to reduce congestion around the celebration sites. Visitors and residents should exercise caution when moving through the crowded zones.
