The Tampa Bay Rays take the field at Tropicana Field on Tuesday night needing a win to stay alive in the World Series. Milwaukee leads the best-of-seven series three games to none after a 10-1 rout in Game 3 on Monday. First pitch is set for 8 p.m. ET, with the game carried on FOX, FOX Deportes and FOX One.

The Brewers moved within one win of the franchise's first championship by scoring eight runs in the fifth inning of Monday's game. Tampa Bay was one out away from closing the fifth when the inning turned. Milwaukee opened the series with a 3-2 win in Game 1, then came back from four runs down to take Game 2 by 5-4.

One team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven postseason series: the 2004 Boston Red Sox, who beat the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series that year before winning the World Series. No club has pushed a World Series to Game 6 after falling behind 3-0.

Right-hander Griffin Jax is expected to start for Tampa Bay with the season on the line. Jax worked one scoreless, hitless inning in relief against Milwaukee on March 30 of this season. Two days later, in an 8-2 Rays loss, he gave up five runs, three earned, without recording an out. In the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians, Jax allowed three runs over four innings. Manager Kevin Cash may also turn to his bullpen early to hold down the Milwaukee lineup.

Milwaukee had not named its starting pitcher as of Tuesday morning. If the Rays win, Game 5 is set for Wednesday at Tropicana Field. A Games 6 and 7 would be played Friday and Saturday in Milwaukee if the series extends that far.

Former Rays third baseman Evan Longoria throws the ceremonial first pitch before Tuesday's game. Longoria played for Tampa Bay from 2008 through 2017 and was part of the 2008 club that won the American League East and reached the franchise's first World Series. He hit a walk-off home run against the New York Yankees on the final day of the 2011 regular season, the homer that clinched an American League wild-card spot over Boston in the game known as Game 162. Longoria retired as a Ray in 2025 on a ceremonial one-day contract. The team inducted him into the Rays Hall of Fame and retired his No. 3 jersey. Joe Maddon and James Shields handled the first-pitch duties before Game 3.
