Tyler Mack Morris, 25, was booked into the Walton County Jail on Tuesday morning after being caught in a black ski mask and hooded sweatshirt. The arrest followed a standoff on Quail Hollow Court in Inlet Beach where a homeowner held the suspect at gunpoint.

Deputies from the Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary-in-progress call just after 3:30 a.m. They found the homeowner pointing a weapon at Morris, who was rummaging through vehicles in the area. A handgun was found in Morris's waistband during the initial search. Bodycam footage shows a deputy instructing the homeowner to drop his weapon, which the resident did. The homeowner told deputies he carried no other weapons.

During the detention, a deputy ordered Morris not to move and warned he would be shot if he did. Morris stated he was the only person outside but did not give his name when asked. He has a known alias, Tyler Mack Maroney, and resides in Panama City.

Morris faces five current charges: burglary, grand theft, wearing a mask while committing a felony, obstruction, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Officials expect to add more charges after finding two additional weapons in his possession. The sheriff's office released the bodycam video of the arrest as part of the incident report.

Investigators have received several burglary reports on Quail Hollow Court and nearby Golfridge Drive. Victims reported missing items from their vehicles. Authorities have not confirmed whether all reported thefts on those streets are linked to Morris.

The sheriff's office asked anyone who believes they were a victim of a vehicle burglary to call 850-892-8111. The department is gathering statements to determine the full scope of the break-ins.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. The two extra weapons found in Morris's possession are expected to lead to new filings.
