The Tampa Bay Rowdies begin their postseason campaign Friday night against Miami FC. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Al Lang Stadium in Tampa. The match marks the start of the USL Championship playoffs for the squad.

The team secured home-field advantage for the entire postseason based on regular season performance. Tampa Bay finished with 18 wins and 61 points. This record earned them the Players' Shield, an award given to the team with the best standing during the regular season. The club also set a team record with 16 shutouts over the course of the year.

Head coach Dominic Casciato emphasized continuity in the team's approach. Speaking after a training session on Thursday, he stated that the players must remain brave and execute the same strategies that worked during the regular season. Casciato described the playoffs as a new season consisting of four games, noting that the mentality must remain aggressive to lift the trophy.

The roster underwent substantial changes this year, with 22 new players joining the team. Forward Russell Cicerone attributed the group's cohesion to the daily competitive environment within the squad. He explained that this internal rivalry forces players to perform at their highest level, allowing the team to click together and compete at the top of the league.

Goalkeeper Jahmali Waite recorded 13 of the team's 16 shutouts. Despite his individual statistics, Waite credited the collective defense for the clean sheets. He highlighted the importance of constant communication and the experience of the defenders. Waite noted that the group remains focused on preventing goals, viewing each clean sheet as a step toward winning games.

Tampa Bay holds a 2-2-0 record against Miami FC in all competitions this season. The Rowdies enter Friday's match as favorites to win the USL Championship title. The team will look to replicate its defensive and offensive balance from the regular season to advance in the single-elimination format.
