The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 on Wednesday night to claim the World Series title, ending a 57-year championship drought for the franchise. The victory marked the first time in club history that the team has won the Major League Baseball crown.

Milwaukee controlled the series from the start, winning four games to one. In the deciding game at Tropicana Field, the Brewers scored one run in the second and fifth innings before adding two in the sixth. Starter Jacob Misiorowski pitched 5.6 innings, allowing two hits and no runs. The bullpen limited the Rays to one run over the final three innings.

The team finished the regular season with a franchise-record 103 wins. According to ESPN Research, the Brewers are the third team in Major League Baseball history to win a World Series in the same year they recorded their first 100-win season. The 1910 Athletics and the 1969 New York Mets are the only other teams to achieve that combination.

Social media reaction across Wisconsin and the baseball world was immediate. Former Brewers pitcher CC Sabathia posted, "World Series Champions for the first time ever!! Soak it all in Milwaukee!!!" He followed with a tribute to broadcaster Bob Uecker, writing, "smiling down 🥹🙏🏾🕊️"

J.J. Watt, a native of Wisconsin, shared, "WORLD SERIES CHAMPION MILWAUKEE BREWERS!!!!" and added, "@Brewers LET'S GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!" Other local sports entities, including the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Marquette University, also took to X to congratulate the team.

Former pitcher Adam Wainwright called the Brewers "one of the best teams I've seen," citing their relentless lineup and stifling bullpen. Nike posted, "How refreshing. A 57-year thirst has been quenched." The Colorado Rockies noted that pitcher Luis Gonzalez, who won the World Baseball Classic with the Rockies, also won the World Series with Milwaukee in the same year.

Culver's Restaurants, a Wisconsin-based chain, acknowledged the Rays for a hard-fought matchup while praising the Brewers' run. The final score of 4-1 reflected the dominant series the Brewers played over the six games.
