Wicked Oak Barbeque, the Seminole Heights restaurant at 6607 N Florida Ave., announced Oct. 26 on social media that Food Network cameras visited its kitchen for an episode of "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." The program is set to air Nov. 6 at 9 p.m.
Founder and owner Felix "Bubba" Flores said the visit was kept quiet until the announcement. "We've been keeping a bit of a secret y'all. Wicked Oak is going to be featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives!," Flores wrote. "It was an honor to have Guy Fieri in the Wicked Oak kitchen and we can't wait for y'all to see what we cooked up for him."
Wicked Oak opened in 2020. Its menu includes loaded mac and cheese, BBQ fries and nachos, pulled chicken sandwiches and pork sandwiches. The restaurant received a Best of the Bay Reader's Choice award for "Best Ribs" in 2021, added a food truck in 2023, and secured a vendor spot at Benchmark International Arena.
Fieri has filmed at several other Tampa area restaurants, including Cousin Vinny's, Boozy Pig, Supernatural, Ted Peters Famous Smoked Fish, and Keegans Seafood Grill.
