The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 on Monday night in St. Petersburg to take a 3-0 lead in the World Series. The victory extended the Brewers' winning streak in the postseason to eight games. Milwaukee outscored Tampa Bay 25-1 across the first three contests.

Jackson Chourio, 22, led the offensive effort with four hits, two runs, and one run batted in. He also stole a base during the game. In the fifth inning, Chourio doubled to begin an eight-run rally that decided the game. The double was recorded at 99 mph, the softest of his four hits that night.

The Brewers finished with 16 hits while the Rays managed only three. Tampa Bay scored a single run in the ninth inning after the series was largely decided. The Rays had not scored in the previous two games combined, aside from a first-inning surge in Game 2 that failed to hold.

Chourio became the youngest player with a four-hit game in World Series history since Joe Garagiola in 1946. He is batting .571 in the series, with two home runs and three stolen bases in three games. He played errorless defense in the outfield throughout the contest.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy cited Chourio's discipline and work ethic in comments to reporters after the game. Murphy compared the player's development trajectory to that of Kobe Bryant, noting that Chourio is a total player who strives for improvement every season.

Chourio signed a team-friendly contract with Milwaukee through the 2031 season, with two club options that extend the deal through 2033. He played in 127 games during the regular season, a number limited by injury, and posted a 4.9 WAR. He has recorded 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases in each of the last three seasons.

The Brewers can become the first team in Major League Baseball history to win eight consecutive postseason games if they win Game 4. The 1976 Cincinnati Reds swept the last two rounds of their respective playoffs, but that National League Championship Series was shorter than the current format.

The next game is scheduled for Tuesday night in Milwaukee. The Rays are one win away from elimination, a scenario they have not faced in the World Series since 1984.
